44 hand-printed gum arabic prints, hand-stitched on to backing and suspended by mill bobbins circa 1906.
The bobbins still smell of grease, dust and smog.

Photographs were rare in years gone by, especially for the working class. My grandfather developed his own film and my grandmother’s uncle was a keen amateur photographer. There aren’t many photos from my Dads side of the family as they had less money to spend.
